With the eye of the artist who crafted this exceptional Inuit artifact, the camera explores in close-up the exquisite detail of the daily hunt, fishing scenes, and children at play incised in black on ivory that has the warm patina of age. This pipe is an outstanding example of the traditional fine pieces--small, light, easily portable, and lavished with artistic detail. An animated short film from The National Film Board of Canada: According to this Inuit legend the raven was not always the jet-black bird that it is today. The owl had something to do with it. What happened makes an engaging story acted out by two life-like puppets made of seal fur. The film, narrated partly in Inuktitut, partly in English, is largely the work of Inuit artists. CREDITS: Director: Co Hoedeman Animation: Co Hoedeman Producer: Pierre Moretti Text: Alootook Ipellie Editing: Pierre Bernier Re-recording: Michel Descombes Voices: Toojatogak Itoacheak, Elatak Nakashook [More] [Less] |

An animated short film from The National Film Board of Canada: The owl and the lemming in this animated film are short-legged, plumply stuffed puppets made of sealskin by Inuit artists. The accompanying song and voices are in Inuktitut, although the legend is narrated in English. It is a story that all audiences, especially children, will enjoy. Moreover, it preserves on film an example of Inuit folklore that may in time disappear. Playing \"Hit Me With Your Best Shot\" ( Pat Benatar ) while on Hyperspeed 5 Guitar Mode, Medium Level. Still learning to play, though, and so far I can only play as far as to the hard level. Good on hand/eye co-ordination \'cuz you\'re watching the TV screen while hitting the notes from the screen and at the same time you\'re playing the Guitar Controller strumming away like as if you\'re playing a guitar...
