Changes and New Features
We've had more time this month that we thought we would, and have added some more new features above and beyond the changes announced in the last blog post earlier this month. Most noticeable will be the Recipe section. Keep in mind that this is a work in progress, and although it is ready for our members to start sharing their recipes there could be a few problems. We intend to specialize in made-in-Nunavut Northern recipes, but we are configured to support anything and everything. Please add your favourite recipe amd include a picture of a dish you made. Let us know in the forum if you have any problems, and feel free to leave ratings and comments for the other recipes if you try them out.
Next, the forums themselves have been altered to integrate better with your profile. Now every post you make will include your favourite quote, an icon indicating your gender and another for your location. The other changes are mostly technical and administrative and you probably won't notice. We know people don't use the forum much and would certainly appreciate it if you started discussions on topics regarding NunavutOnline or anything else happening in Nunavut.
Another "technical" change we made to the site is in regards to the URLs (or addresses) in a few sections of the site. For example, the addresses for the classified ads now make much more sense than they use to so you can see what section/category you are in, as well as the name of the ad itself. This also applies for the community Picture gallery and a couple other sections as well.
Speaking of the picture gallery, you may have noticed or seen a recent forum post describing a few changes there. You can now get much more detailed information about each picture, comment on it, rate it or download it. As well, you can start a slide show in any category by viewing a picture and clicking on the slide show link below it.
We hope you appreciate all the work that goes into bringing you regular improvements and always look forward to hearing about what new features you would like to see at NunavutOnline.Com.
